1. Who we are
BetGames is operated by [COUNSEL: registered legal entity name, company number and registered office]. This page is a working draft and has not yet been reviewed by UK legal counsel.
2. The service
BetGames runs head-to-head competitions of skill. Positions are decided by measured performance against a published, server-verified scoring method — never by chance. Every competition is currently free to enter: there is no paid entry, no stake and no prize of monetary value.
Paid competitions, entry fees and prizes do not exist on the platform today. They cannot be switched on without recorded legal and compliance approval. [COUNSEL: confirm classification and any licensing position before any paid feature is enabled]
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be ordinarily present in Great Britain — England, Wales or Scotland — while playing.
- Northern Ireland is not currently supported, pending a separate legal review. See supported locations.
- One account per person. [COUNSEL: confirm age-verification approach and evidentiary standard]
4. Accounts and security
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity carried out under your account. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
5. Fair play and cheating
Every competitive run is recorded as a timestamped event log and checked against a server replay before a result counts as verified. We treat automation, input manipulation, collusion between accounts and interference with the seed-commitment or scoring process as cheating.
Where our systems or reviewers flag a run as anomalous, the submission is held for human review and does not count until cleared. Confirmed cheating can result in a voided result, forfeiture of the affected match, or account suspension or termination. [COUNSEL: confirm proportionality and appeal process for penalties]
6. Competitions and results
Scores are calculated and stored by our servers from the verified event log — clients never write a final score directly. A result is final once verification completes, subject to the dispute process below.
Where two players finish with the same verified score, the match is recorded as an equal position. We do not use random tie-breaks or any form of chance-based resolution.
7. Disputes
If you believe a result is wrong, raise it through the help centre within the window set out in the relevant competition rules. We review the stored event log and server replay before deciding an outcome. [COUNSEL: confirm dispute SLA and any external escalation route]
8. Acceptable use
- No automation, scripting, macros or bot assistance during a competitive run.
- No multiple accounts, and no collusion with another account to fix a result.
- No abuse, harassment or discriminatory conduct towards other players or staff.
- No attempt to probe, disable or circumvent verification, security or geographic controls.
9. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account for a breach of these terms, confirmed cheating, or where we are required to do so by law. [COUNSEL: confirm notice requirements and data handling on termination]
10. Liability
[COUNSEL: standard liability and indemnity clauses to be drafted and inserted here, calibrated to a free-to-play service with no monetary stakes]
11. Changes
We may update these terms as the service changes. Material changes will be reflected in the version and date at the top of this page. [COUNSEL: confirm notice period for material changes]
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of [COUNSEL: England and Wales — confirm].
